My Special Loyal of the Month
May 5, 2008
I got a letter from one of the loyals asking for help for a little boy named Carlos who has MS and is hugeeeeee Criss Angel freak. After hearing his story, my cold, black, heart was touched and I had to kick this into gear. Why? Because the rest of us often times get so wrapped up in our own lives and plans to go to Vegas to see Criss and the family, we forget those less fortunate who need that little bit of “magic” in their lives as well.
Here is how Carlos became my “special mindfreak loyal” this month…read on and see why the letters touched my heart and should touch yours, too :) These are from my mail box :
“Hey, fellow Stefanie! I’m Stephanie, a Kindergarten teacher from Visalia, Calif. I am a 2nd yr. Ultimate Loyal. I sent the following info to DeeDee and asked what I should do. She suggested that I share the story with you and send a picture to see if you could help.
Let me tell you about Carlos. He is a little boy with MS who comes to me for reading help after school. He can walk, but is quite crippled. He is from a deprived home. I have known him since Kindergarten. He has the best smile and most amazing personality! The first day he walked into my classroom, he walked over to my desk and the biggest smile came over his face when he saw Criss’ pic on my bulletin board…....he said, “Oh my God, that’s Criss Angel! I love Criss Angel! Is that you with him? You’re so lucky!” He proceeded to tell me in his own 3rd grade words how Criss had made him feel like he could do anything! This child is inspired by Criss. I couldn’t keep my eyes from tearing up.
I began to teach him a few easy illussions at the end of each lesson….and I am horrible! He was so excited(good for my ego). Then, he came to me with a letter he wrote to Criss and asked if I would send it to him(insert tears here too). I did, and sent it to the production office. Every day, he asks me if I have heard from Criss. He shares with me his favorite illussions.
I am certainly aware that Criss gets numerous requests, but can you help me fufill this precious little guys dream? I have a feeling that Carlos will be the one ‘inspiring’ Criss if they could meet. much, Stephanie “
thanks so
Letter two: “DD…...omg, Carlos was beyond excited….he was at a loss for words for the first time…lol. His smile lit up the room. He gave me a big hug and said thank you. I cried. He was a real ‘hot shot’ at school today, and he will never forget it, and neither will I! Relay my message to Criss. I’ll tell Stefanie also. You are all amazing. Criss is so kind to do this for him…..a small act with a big impact on a little boy!
Also, I can send any messages on to Carlos…he can be everyone’s special little MF! Let me know if the pics do not show up….I”ll try again…...thanx again…hugs…..Steph”
Letter three: “Here is a BIG HUG and a BIG THANK YOU to you,to Stef and to Criss for the picture for Carlos. I was out of town for a few days, and it was waiting when I got home. I can’t wait to give it to him. I will send a report and a pic soon. This little guy can’t play baseball or soccer like the other boys, but he loves magic, loves Criss…and now he is the only guy in school with a personally signed pic…just for him! Thanx for making a dream come true for a very special little guy! Steph”
What a great reminder of what being a “loyal” is all about!! Steph asked for something for someone else; she opened her heart to Carlos and wanted to bring a smile to his face. BIG KUDOS to Steph for being a true, selfless loyal!!
If you have anytime, please send Carlos a comment or a note and tell him you’re a loyal too and tell him he’s your “loyal of the month” too :)
Carlos, you ROCK and I hope someday I can see you do some magic and illusions too cuz I think you’d make an awesome illusionist :)
